2009 Codes Released
CMS has announced code changes for FY 2009. Among them are 73 new neoplasm codes, mainly revolving around leukemias (categories 203-208) with new codes focusing on leukemias "in relapse." Leukemias and lymphomas in relapse require different treatments than non-relapsing cancers, and have different prognoses.
