Doreen Bieryla - President
Doreen Bieryla became president of DecisionHealth in 2006, capping a career that has included senior positions in both publishing and health care. She served for 10 years in a senior management position at a Nashville-area community hospital as it grew into a regional medical facility with an internationally renowned cancer center. She oversaw community outreach and volunteer services, chaired the outpatient services management team and worked with local physicians to build and market their practices. In the publishing arena, she was the senior vice president and publisher of ElementK Journals in Rochester, NY. She developed and oversaw ElementK's corporate marketing departments for the on-line learning and courseware divisions. Doreen also was president and associate publisher at M. Lee Smith Publishers in Nashville. She served as the chief marketing officer for UCG, DecisionHealth's parent company, before taking over the reins at DecisionHealth. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University and holds a Master's in university administration and a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology.
Corinne Kuypers-Denlinger - Vice President, Home Health Hospital and Compliance
Corinne Kuypers-Denlinger joined DecisionHealth in 2008. Her career as a senior executive in publishing spans more than 25 years, during which time she also authored, co-authored or collaborated in the writing of more than a dozen books. Corinne has three times been part of an executive management team responsible for launching and growing a company from start-up through acquisition, including the launch of an award-winning trade magazine in circulation since 1986, and a health-service company acquired by TLC Laser Vision, North America's largest provider of laser vision services. Her parallel career as a trend analyst included more than a dozen years as Editor-in-Chief of a business-to-business newsletter, and gave her frequent opportunities to be interviewed by the media regarding economic, technological and social trends and the impact of the forces of change on business.
Damian Cevallos - Vice President, Finance
Damian joined DecisionHealth in 2008, after serving as Director of Financial Analysis for Varsity Group Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based public company that provides textbooks and school uniform solutions to educational institutions. Prior to that, he worked for boutique consulting practices specializing in litigation and business valuations in Atlanta and New York City. He has worked with start-ups to Fortune 500 companies on corporate finance issues, including M&A, tax, SEC reporting, IPO registrations and intangible asset valuations.
Damian earned his BA in Economics and Accounting from University of Pittsburgh and an MBA in Finance and Statistics from New York University's Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He also received his CPA license from the state of Georgia and an Accreditation in Business Valuation ("ABV") issued by the AICPA.
Jay Lechtman - Vice President, Strategic Planning and Business Development
Jay Lechtman has been in the health care information field for more than a decade. He joined DecisionHealth in 2003, after leading new product development efforts for St. Anthony Publishing and its successor, the publishing division of Ingenix. Prior to his career in specialized information, Lechtman covered local and national politics, news, business and features for the Baltimore Sun, the Baltimore Jewish Times and the Los Gatos (Calif.) Times-Observer. He received a Master's degree in communications from Stanford University and a Bachelor's in writing from The Johns Hopkins University.
Kelly Jorgensen - Vice President, Custom Coding Solutions
Kelly Jorgensen is the founder and president of Custom Coding Solutions. He sold the company to UCG, DecisionHealth's parent company, in 2007. Kelly has used his entrepreneurial skills over the past 20 years to build several start-up companies in health care coding, compliance and reimbursement. He has expertise in developing new products, creating national partnerships, implementing national distribution channels, and building national sales teams. Prior to founding Custom Coding solutions, Kelly helped build CodeCorrect Inc, a company that was ranked 18th in 2004 on Inc. Magazine's list of the 500 fastest growing private companies in the U.S.
Lance Matthiesen - Vice President, Sales
Lance Matthiesen joined DecisionHealth in 2007, after working with a range of companies from Fortune 500 to technology start-ups. His publishing background includes roles at The Washington Post and Congressional Quarterly. While at The Post, Lance held several sales and marketing positions, culminating with a leadership role on the $250 million new printing presses project in the late 1990s. At Congressional Quarterly, Lance held senior leadership positions in advertising sales and marketing. He helped re-launch its flagship publication, CQ Weekly, and oversaw the explosive growth of Congressional Quarterly's online advertising revenue. Prior to joining DecisionHealth, he was vice president for sales and marketing for Educational/Campus Direct. Lance earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Bates College (ME), and his MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. He serves on the Board of the Montgomery County Community Foundation and is very active with the Bates College Alumni Association.
Lisa Getter - Senior Editorial Director
Lisa Getter has been DecisionHealth's senior editorial director since 2007. She joined UCG, DecisionHealth's parent company, in 2005 after an award-winning 22-year newspaper career at the Miami Herald and Los Angeles Times. She was twice a member of Pulitzer Prize winning teams, was twice a nominated Pulitzer finalist and shared in Harvard's Goldsmith Prize in Investigative Reporting.
She received a B.S. in Journalism at Northwestern University and was a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University. Lisa is also UCG's corporate editorial director.
Marisa Luchsinger - Senior Marketing Director
Marisa Luchsinger has been DecisionHealth's senior marketing director since 2007. She joined DecisionHealth in 2005 as the Marketing Director for new subscription sales. She previously worked for Phillips Health, managing subscription and product marketing for three of their largest franchise businesses. Marisa has also worked in marketing for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia and Delias, Inc. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Bucknell University.
Sean Weiss - Vice President, Professional Services
Sean Weiss is a nationally recognized speaker and leading health care consultant in practice management operations, coding and billing audits, compliance, and regulatory guidance for physician based practices, hospitals, and other health care organizations of all size. Since 1997, Sean has worked with hundreds of physicians, medical groups, hospitals, and other provider organizations. He has been a featured speaker with numerous medical societies, coding organizations and pharmaceutical companies.
Susan Fletcher - Vice President of Operations
Susan Fletcher joined DecisionHealth in 2006. She has 25 years experience providing software development and technology expertise to a variety of industries, including health care, publishing, telecommunications, retail and government. Before joining DecisionHealth, Susan developed and managed electronic products for BNA. She also worked for USA Today, supporting their production and advertising departments. She has a Bachelor's degree in computer science and mathematics from DePauw University, and an MBA from the University of Maryland.
Tonya Nevin - Vice President for Physician Practice
Tonya Nevin oversees home health and physician coding information services. She began at DecisionHealth as the regulatory reporter for the flagship newsletter covering home health where she broke such award winning stories as calculation errors in home care reimbursement rate setting, workplace violence prevalence and prevention among home care clinicians, and the switch to prospective payment. Nevin is a 10-year journalism veteran now responsible for publications and web sites covering home health and physician coding.
