This course is designed to help clinicians master the nuances of the OASIS-C diagnosis items: M1020, M1022 and M1024. The actual diagnoses items haven’t changed, but the instructions on how to list each diagnosis have been expanded so that they are in line with the instructions provided in CMS’s Appendix D. For example, OASIS-C instructs clinicians to list diagnoses “in the order that best reflects the seriousness of each condition and supports the disciplines and services provided.” Also the “severity index” is now referred to as the “degree of symptom control.”
